The
FA Cup Final in 2006 was once again staged at Cardiff’s
magnificent Millennium Stadium and was of intense global interest
as the most renowned and oldest cup competition in the world
of football.
The history of this global completion dates back to 1871
when the first FA Cup competition was held, which included
fifteen entries. Wanderers, a team formed by ex-public school
and university players, won the first final 1-0 against Royal
Engineers at Kennington Oval. The first Cup Final goal was
scored by Morton Betts.
Today, the 2007 FA Cup Final is being hosted at The new Wembley
which will be the most spectacular football stadium in the
world, built to the highest specifications, using the latest
technology and offering every fan who visits, an unrivalled
match-day experience. Two of the most exciting teams in the
premiership go head to head; Chelsea and Manchester United
will guarantee a nail biting Cup Final not to be missed. Manchester
United having won the Cup ten times more than any club in
the Premiership, with Chelsea looking to complete a hall of
four trophies this season ensuring a world class game.
