The FA Cup Final in 2006 was once again staged at Cardiff’s magnificent Millennium Stadium and was of intense global interest as the most renowned and oldest cup competition in the world of football.

The history of this global completion dates back to 1871 when the first FA Cup competition was held, which included fifteen entries. Wanderers, a team formed by ex-public school and university players, won the first final 1-0 against Royal Engineers at Kennington Oval. The first Cup Final goal was scored by Morton Betts.
